SMRT GRANT PROGRAM

2022 PLANT + ANIMAL SCIENCES

Submission deadline: Closed

Sequencing for a better future

Could your research benefit from highly accurate long-read sequencing? Apply for this SMRT Grant! With highly accurate long reads, known as HiFi reads, you can capture genetic variation to help organisms adapt to changing climates, conserve endangered species, and produce the higher yielding, more nutritious, and pest and disease resistant foods needed to feed future generations.

The 2022 Plant + Animal Sciences SMRT Grant is open

Apply to win free sequencing to reveal novel genetic variation

Tell us in 100 words or less how characterizing genetic variation in your favorite plant or animal species with HiFi sequencing will contribute to a healthier population and planet for a chance to win free DNA extraction with Circulomics, SMRTbell library preparation, up to 6 SMRT Cells 8M, sequencing on the Sequel IIe system, and bioinformatics support.

HiFi reads offer best-in-class detection of all variant types including single nucleotide variants (SNVs), indels, and structural variants (SVs).
